Final video story

For this final video I wanted to do an advertisement for the Hollingberry field house showing off one of the iconic tennis structures at Washington State University. It is similar to the Murrow building video that we did in the sense that it is giving the history of the building and showing off its many features. I used a majority of the shots from my draft video but I added a few new shots to make the video more visually pleasing. The last video had a group of guys playing and I wanted a bit more action so I had a video taken of my friend and I rallying for more consistent play and to show the game of tennis a bit more. This represents the community that comes along with tennis and shows that the sport is driven by the athletes you meet around in the game of tennis. Again all of the videos and pictures were taken by me or recorded by my girlfriend. I also replaced one of the pictures from the last video. I took a shot of a big banner that said home of cougar tennis and noticed that there wasn’t much that was happening visually and so I decided to go another route. Scoreboards are synonymous with sports and the field house has a very nice scoreboard just above that same banner and so I decided to snap a picture of it. Conveniently there is a great looking Washington state flag right under neath it to make the picture more visually pleasing. I wanted to add even more to the picture so I used the zooming feature and set some key frames into the photo to zoom in on the section that said Washington state tennis. That way the audio matches up when i say it is home to the cougar women’s tennis team. Another one of the biggest features that I added was the music. Music is a good way to set the tone in a video and I found some inspirational background music in Hooksounds.com. I also added the editing and attribution title slides at the end to bring the video to a nice close. A few fade outs for the audio and the video helped it feel more completed at the end as well. Overall I’m proud of the outcome of my hard work and I hope my story is clear and shows what I have learned over this semester.
